CYCLE CENTRE GUIDED RIDE PROGRAMME: 2010 Detailed below are the guided rides organised by Middlesbrough Cycle Centre. These rides are available for members of the public to attend and will help to raise awarness of places to Cycle in and around Middlesbrough. They are also great fun! 11TH April - TEES BARRAGE
Duration 2hrs
Difficulty - Easy (6 mile)
Start - 10am at Middlesbrough Cycle Centre
Join Middlesbrough Cycle Centre on a tour of the industrial sites of Middlesbrough. Including Middlesbrough Dockside and the Transporter Bridge. The ride is a gentle and steady route aimed at all family members. The route will take around 2 hrs and there will be stop off points along the way to view some of Middlesbrough's heritage. A break at the Tees barrage will also be included, before returning to the Cycle Centre.
9th May - PINCHINTHORPE
Duration 4/5 hrs
Difficulty - Medium - (25 miles)
Start - 10am at Middlesbrough Cycle Centre
Join Middlesbrough Cycle Centre on a route aimed for people who want to get away from the town and into the countryside. The Cycle Centre will lead a ride into Pinchinthorpe, then following the Blue cycle route, on to the North Yorkshire Moors leading in to Guisborough. The ride consists of technical climbs and descents and is aimed at the more competent cyclist.
13th June - GUISBROUGH
Duration 4/5 hrs
Difficulty - Hard - (30-35 mile)
Start - 10am at Middlesbrough Cycle Centre
Join Middlesbrough Cycle Centre on a guided ride of Guisbrough Woods. The ride consists of challenging climbs and challenging descents. Leaving Guisbrough the route will arrive at Newton moor, taking in the sight of Roseberry Topping and Captain Cooks monument. It will then head back towards Guisbrough Woods and return to the Cycle Centre.
18th July - CASTLE EDEN WALKWAY
Duration 2.5/3 hrs
Difficulty -Medium (20 mile)
Start - 10am at Middlesbrough Cycle Centre
Join Middlesbrough Cycle Centre on a guided ride out through the countryside taking in Norton High Street, then on towards Castle Eden Walkway. The route returns via a disused railway line. Then a leisurely ride back by the River Tees, stopping off at the Transporter Bridge, before heading back to the Cycle Centre.
